Underdogs Featured in the New York Times

To coincide with the 7th annual New York Dog Film Festival, the New York times published a piece featuring Underdogs in it’s Oct. 20th edition of the paper. Director Alex Astrella was eager to share the societal impact the film has had, as well as what he learned from the inmate dog handlers during his experience in filming the project.

“Free Play” is a documentary film that shows how inclusive parks bring meaning and vitality to the lives of children and families in the community. It tells the stories of Gallatin, TN families who unite under a mission to establish Miracle Park as a fully accessible place for folks of all abilities to live and grow.
