Social Media Presence Workshop 

(4-6 Weeks)

Instructor: Eileen Lamb

Format: 4 to 6 Weeks | 1 Hour per Session | Virtual via Zoom

 


 

Week 1: Foundations & Strategy

Objective: Understand the purpose behind your social media presence.

  • Quick intros & icebreaker (what platform do you spend the most time on and why?)
  • What is your “why” on social?
  • Audience identification (who are you talking to, really?)
  • Overview of the algorithm in plain English

 

Homework: Write a one-sentence mission for your social media presence.

 


 

Week 2: Platforms & Content Pillars

Objective: Pick your battles, where and what to post.

  • Which platforms work best for different goals (IG vs. Linkedin vs Facebook…)
  • What are content pillars and how to define yours
  • The 3 E’s: Entertain, Educate, Engage

 

Activity: Start a mini content calendar for one platform.

Homework:  Draft 3 post ideas, 1 per content pillar.

 


 

Week 3: Storytelling That Sticks

Objective: Learn how to connect emotionally and visually.

  • What makes a story go viral (and what doesn’t)
  • Writing captions that get people to care
  • Image vs. video what works best and when

 

Homework: Create 1 post (graphic or video) and draft a caption.

 


 

Week 4: Analytics & Growth Without Burnout

Objective: Understand what’s working, what’s not, and how to grow smart.

  • Interpreting platform insights (reach, engagement, saves, etc.)
  • What growth actually looks like (spoiler: it’s not always followers)
  • Repurposing and recycling content

 

Homework: Identify 1 metric you’ll track weekly and 1 post to repurpose.

 


 

Week 5 (Optional): Tools & Time-Saving Tips

Objective: Streamline your workflow so social doesn’t run your life.

  • Scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Later, Buffer)
  • Canva, CapCut, and other quick-win creation tools
  • Templates for captions, content planning, and engagement

Bonus Task: Try scheduling a post using one of the tools.

 


 

Week 6 (Optional): Community, Crisis Management

Objective: Tackle the good, the bad, and the trolls.

  • Engaging with followers meaningfully
  • Managing negativity and misinformation
  • Finding your voice and staying consistent

 

Homework: Draft 2 responses, one for a kind comment and one for a critical one.
